February 10 - "The Bistro Cheese Off" - $40 - 6 - 8pm  4 different gourmet cheese's each paired with 4 handpicked beers from 4 different brewery's. Each brewer will hand pick his best beer to match up with the selection of cheeses - 4 different flights of 4 beers (blind tasted).   The person who picks "the most popular vote" from each flight will win a gift certificate to one of the 4 Breweries involved and be crowned as:

10th Annual Double IPA Festival - February 6, 2010 -what a great party it was!!!  Rain during set up and then the weather cleared (even some sunshine) to provide the perfect setting for a wonderful party!  There were 58 beers to taste and great music to listen to.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who work so hard to make this happen - it is an amazing testament to the Bistro to watch this thing come together and then come down all in one day!   Needless to say there are some sore muscles and no voices a plenty today!

The Barrel Aged Festival rocked on November 14, 2009 - 65 glorious beers on tap, live music and party BISTRO style with BBQ smokin' and beer flowin' - 11am - 7pm - street closed for extra room.  Enjoy Sang Matiz played to a happy crowd and the winners of

The Wet Hop date is Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 -  based on the fermentation science required for the freshest Wettest hopped beers we can get our hands on!!!!! 
11am - 6pm Great Music and BBQ all day - beers by the glass - 3oz or 6oz pours - these beers are seriously fresh and EXCITING!!!


Summer Street Parties Dates: June 18th - July 16th and August 20th - always a good time to drop by The Bistro for a cold one.

What a great party our 12th Annual IPA Festival was Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 11-7pm.    Where else can you taste so many different - 62  IPA's on tap side by side?  Sang Matiz tore up the stage with some smoking hot music - great food and fun was had.
Admission is $25 for glass and 5  - 6oz pours.  We will have pints of light beer, wine, tea, coffee and other beverages for those who do not drink IPA's.
The Bistro is CASH ONLY - with ATM on premises - we no longer accept Credit or Debit Cards The results of the professional judging:

The New Release of a  beer from the godfather of hoppiness won the hearts of all - first time in 12 years that we floated 2 kegs of any beer during a festival!! Thanks to Vinnie and the fabulous folks at Russian River!!!! Can we please get another keg??

August 9, 2009 is Barks and Brews - a fund raiser for FOFAS.  

We are happy to be hosting Maui Brewing Companies Nor California's RELEASE Party on Thursday, June 25, 2009.  A bit of the islands here in Hayward!!  What a fun night....GREAT BEER!!!  

Deschutes is coming by with the "Woody Wagon" Wednesday, May 6th at 5pm- must be seen to be fully appreciated - we will have special beers on tap.

Hop Rhizome Festival is Saturday, April 11, 2009  - we will have several varietals of Hops for purchase and a plethora of Hopilicious beers on tap for your enjoyment alongside great live music and BBQ.

A Celebration of Bill Brand's Life on his Birthday - Thursday March 26, 2009 - All proceeds will be donated to Contra Costa Food Bank.  Appetizers, Special Beers, Pete's Chocolates and toasts of remembrance for our good friend who loved BEER!!!

February 12 - Mixology & Sensory Appreciation -$40 - 6- 8pm - hosted by Judy Ashworth and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.  A short course on Sensory with the best sensory team - Sierra Nevada - followed by Beer Mixology with the madame of beer Judy Ashworth.  Limited seating available - beer and appetizers included.  Tickets will go on sale December 1st.

February 7 - our 9th Annual Double IPA Fest - 11 am - 7pm - $25 for the glass and 5 tastes 11am - 7pm -
additional tastes are $1.50 each.  A media tent to plan the rest of your SF BEER WEEK activities.  Professional Judging Awards Ceremony  happens at 5pm. 
Come and join the fun as we close down some of Main Street and Party all day!  We have some wonderful musicians lined up to entertain us and  approximately 50 Double IPA's on tap.

On October 4, 2008 - our 5th Annual WET HOP Festival took place -- talk about FRESH and EXCITING  Pete Madsen will kick off the music at noon - followed at 3pm with BeerCraft (how appropriate is that name)
Looks like 20 Wet Hops are gonna be flowing!!!  See ya there

On Wednesday - September 17, 2008 - a campaign kickoff party for Rick Bartholomew who is running for Hayward School Board - from 6pm - 8pm - donations are welcome.

On Wednesday - August 13, 2008 - we are having a special tasting of New Belgium Beer's... 5pm

Our 11th Annual IPA Festival is coming on August 9, 2008 - Awesome Street Party with 50+ IPA's on tap, great live music and BBQ all day.   The results of the professional judging and peoples choice are:

Come to the Hop Rhizome Festival and buy some actual hop roots to grow your own - Saturday, April 12, 2008 - 11am  we will have a wonderful selection of HOPPY beers on tap as well as BBQ and music all day.

Our 8th Annual  Double IPA Festival on Saturday February 9, 2008 was another fabulous time on a  sunny California day.   The music was smokin' - thanks to Pete Madsen, The John Howland Trio and Ralph (tribute to JIMI) Woodson.
The BBQ was kick'n out some killer tritip and sausage.  OF course the beer was what took center stage.....the winners are:

Wet Hop Beer Fest was Saturday, October 6th - 24 Fresh Beers were in the house on tap -
Live Music by Jon Howland Trio and Pete Madsen rocked the house.   The BBQ cranked out awesome tri-tip and Corralito's sausage - The weather was perfect and a great time was had by all.  The freshness of this style of beer is unmatched by anything you have ever tasted - hopefully you got to savor a bit of this special nectar that only comes around once a year.
Our People's Choice Award went to:
    Lagunitas Absolutely Wet

Our 10th IPA Festival Saturday, August 11, 2007 was a great success - the weather was great, 55 different IPA's were flowing and the music was  sensational.  San Pablo project kicked it off followed by Batuka who brought it home.  The results of the professional judging are as follows:

Bronze:            Pizza Port Carlsbad Wipeout IPA

Our  Spring Fling aka Hop Rhizome Festival was on Saturday, April 21, 2007 -- from noon - ??  - Live music and BBQ all day - some very special beers and different varieties of Hops available -- grow your own!!!
It was great -- hope you made it by.......always great beers flowin'.......


Well  our 7th Annual Double IPA Festival held on Saturday February 10, 2007 -was a bit soggy but didn't keep anyone away!! A great time was had by all - enjoying the 50 Double IPA's that we had on tap - The results of the professional judging are as follows:

Our First Ever Barrel Age Beer Festival - was held on November 11, 2006.  The rain cleared out just in time for this fabulous event.  The flavors were unbelievable and all over the map.  Hard to judge such a wide assortment of beers against each other - many thanks to our tireless judges.  
The Street was closed for this event - and gave us lots of room to spread out and enjoy the many varieties available.   This was one for the ages.....not to be missed if we can pull it off again next year.

October 7, 2006  was  our 3rd Annual  Wet Hop Festival -- there were  1 4  wet hop beers on tap - our
People's Choice Award went to Lagunitas Maximus.  A fun time was had by all.


Our 9th Annual IPA Festival  was held on  Saturday August 12, 2006.   We had 46 IPA's show up and a great time was had by all!!
The winners of the professional judging went like this:

Silver:                     Pizza Port - Carlsbad - Wipeout

April 22, 2006 was our Hop Rhizome Beer Festival -- many hops were purchased.   15 different varieties for sale, there are still some left -.  Special BEERS were awesome as was the BBQ and The San Pablo Project is a band not to be missed!  


1906 Earthquake  April 18th 100th Anniversary Pint Night & Toast - special Imperial Red Ale - Sasquatch Legacy Project (Collaboration).  Glen Falconer Foundation sponsored the making of this beer to promote the education of future beermakers.


Friday March 31st - come down for the RELEASE party for NEW BELGIUM'S PEACH LAMBIC - with the brewers in the house!!  Special glassware - starts at 5pm.



Our 6th Annual Double IPA Festival was held February 11, 2006 and it was a great party -- the sun was shining and 50 fabulous beers were flowing.  Big Thanks out to all of our beer pourers and wonderful guests for another successful event.

The WET HOP Festival (Oct 15) was fabulous!! Weather was great and the beers were sooo fresh! What a wonderful style  - crisp, clean and full.
People's Choice for the wet hop was Drakes Brewery. Congratulations Rodger and Melissa.

The  8th Annual IPA Festival was held on August 6, 2005!
KULICA  made it and we danced and drank some great beers!

Our Belgian Beer Festival was held on Saturday, June 4, 2005
24 Belgium Beers were on  tap, live music and BBQ all day. It was a very special day.

Our 5th Annual Double IPA festival was held on Saturday, February 12, 2005.  A good time was had by all that attended!!! (which was plenty) Sunshine and Hoppiness made the day very special. Thanks to the musical talents of  Jug Free America, Tony McGee and Kulica ( we love the new CD)

- IPA-India Pale Ale Festival - 7th Annual -- It was a wonderful event, the weather was perfect and so many special people attended.  The Beers were cold and flowing thanks to the efforts of Vic and the Bistro crew - many thanks to our volunteers for all of their help. The music was fabulous - thanks to Kulica for an unbelievable ride!! Sweet tunes.  You can buy their CD at their website.    Today we are recovering from a weekend of fun fun fun...........hope you were able to join us.
